First Day of Classes

Teachers will meet all students on the playground compound Monday, August 31 starting at 7:45 AM. In the event of rain, this will be moved into the gym. We will call classes into the school at 8:00 am. If you are new to our school and have not registered, please come around to the main office and we will help with classroom placement. We strongly encourage families to register through School Engage prior to our start date so that we are planned for and have desks and supplies for your child to be able to start the year with their classmates. Transportation

Yellow School Bus Transportation

For families who qualify for yellow bus transportation, please register prior to the June 14th deadline. Registrations after June 14 are accepted, but will not be able to access the bus until October.

Parking

Our student drop off location is on Huntercrest Road, above our school Playground. Please do not drop off your child in the school parking lot unless they are registered for Summit Kids out of school care program!

Student Parking

Students are encouraged to bring bicycles, skateboards and scooters to school. Parking for these are available beside the school office in the racks provided. Students are encouraged to bring thier own locks to secure their wheels.

Calgary Transit

Students are able to ride Calgary Transit for free up until 12 years of age. Please note that families are responsible for students on Calgary Transit as the school does not provide pickup or drop off for transit stops.

School Supplies

Basic school supplies are provided and notes will come home occasionally for any extra supplies that your child may need throughout the year. Students should bring a backpack for carrying books and lunches back and forth to home and have an outdoor set of shoes and a safe indoor set for use in the gym.

Please ensure that you are signed up for Commercial messages! Huntington Hills sends out reminders and information through School Messenger and if you have not signed up for these messages, you will not receive messages related to items like school photos, field trips or fee reminders.


We are planning on grade 6 Outdoor School May 25 to 28. We will have a parent information meeting during the Welcome Back BBQ on Sept 24. In order for your child to participate in this overnight experience, a legal guardian must attend the meeting. Please watch for more information in the fall.
